Charter Amendment debate tonight
A Debate on the OPEN GOVERNMENT ONLINE AMENDMENT and SAVE OUR SPRINGS AMENDMENT
This Thursday evening, 6:30-8:30, at St Edwards University
The Environment Science and Policy program of the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at St Edwards University invites you to a debate on the OPEN GOVERNMENT ONLINE AMENDMENT and SAVE OUR SPRINGS AMENDMENT, on the ballot as Charter Amendments 1 AND 2.
The debate and discussion are free and open to the public.
The proposed charter amendments have generated a fair amount of controversy. The ENSP program is hosting a moderated debate and question/answer session to help present information from both sides. The format of the debate and q/a session is constructed especially for those people who have reservations one way or the other, or who have not yet made up their minds about how to vote. Both sides will present their arguments and be allowed to ask each other questions about their arguments. We will then have a lengthy time for audience members to ask questions of either side.
Arguing for the amendment are Bill Bunch and Glen Maxey. Arguing against are Daryl Slusher and Gus Garcia.
Thursday evening, April 13, 6:30-8:30, at Jones Auditorium in the Ragsdale Center (room 100, on the bottom floor, west side of the building) on the St Edwards campus. Ragsdale is the long building in the middle of campus. Free parking for event. Doors open at 6:00. Maps to the campus can be found on the SEU website; www.stedwards.edu
