Learn about the issues tonight
Please join us tonight at Mother Egan’s Irish Pub for a couple of short films and to find out how you can help persuade AMD not to move over our aquifer.
“Driving Sprawl” is a 20-minute documentary produced by Iconmedia about the environmental impacts of Advanced Micro Devices’ planned move to the Barton Springs watershed. You have to see for yourself some of the damage that has already occurred before AMD has even begun construction.
“Barton Springs Uprising” revisits Austin’s historic all night citizen uprising at City Council against Freeport-McMoRan (parent company of Stratus Properties) in 1990 against Freeport’s massive development plans on Barton Creek.
We have a lot of volunteering opportunities coming up in the next few weeks and we need your help. Our city representatives and the courts are not going to help with this - it is up to you and me to make a difference. Are you ready?
When: TONIGHT Wednesday, April 12 at 8:30 p.m.
Where: Mother Egan’s Pub, 715 W. 6th Street (near Rio Grande)
All are invited. No admission charge.
